Dr. Hokazono was the first Deputy Commissioner and Chief Defense Scientist of Acquisition, Technology, Logistics Agency (ATLA), Japan Ministry of Defense (JMOD).
During his tenure in ATLA, JMOD he had been leading various domestic and international cooperative defense research and development projects, and a promotion of industry-academia-government collaboration in advanced science and technologies. After retirement of JMOD, he currently works for Advisor of NEC Corporation, Senior Research Fellow of Institute for Future Engineering, and Director of Japan Institute for Space and Security. His present major research areas of interest and related published articles are technological security policy, implementation of innovation by disruptive technologies, and defense industrial and technological basis. He earned doctor degree in engineering from KEIO University in 1992.
